Forensic Exam Nurse

The YWCA Oklahoma City is currently seeking a Forensic Exam Nurse.

The YWCA is looking for a dynamic professional who is energetic, creative and proactive, with strong leadership and relationship building skills. Must be a registered nurse, Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Experience working in administration and with victims of sexual assault and domestic violence preferred. The position requires a flexible work schedule to meet the needs of victims of sexual assault.

Domestic Violence Community Advocate

We are seeking a dynamic professional who is energetic, creative, takes initiative, proactively builds relationships and performs as a solid team member. The Domestic Violence Advocate will provide safety planning, advocacy, support and crisis intervention to victims of domestic violence. An understanding of empowerment advocacy, trauma-informed environments and self-determination models will be helpful. The YWCA provides comprehensive domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking training for Advocates and offers a unique opportunity to enter into this dynamic profession.

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree in a Social Service field. Strong listening, verbal and written communication and organizational skills are required. This position will require a combination of day/evening hours and one weekend per month as well as schedule flexibility to meet the needs of our clients. The position is on-call for one week each month. Bilingual preferred but not required.

Sexual Assault Case Advocate

The YWCA Oklahoma City is currently seeking a full-time Sexual Assault Case Advocate. We are seeking a dynamic professional who is energetic, creative, takes initiative, proactively building relationships, performs as a solid team member and has demonstrated appropriate decision making skills. The Sexual Assault Advocate will provide advocacy and crisis intervention to victims of sexual assault and work in conjunction with the director to provide 24 hour coverage for the Hospital Advocacy Program. This position will provide individual case management and co-facilitate a sexual assault support group.

 Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree in a social service field, and experience working in the sexual assault and/or domestic violence field is preferred. Strong listening, verbal and written communication skills are required. The position requires the ability to travel, to be on-call, some evening/weekend work and schedule flexibility to meet the needs of our clients. 

Relief Sexual Assault Advocate

The YWCA Oklahoma City is currently seeking a part-time Sexual Assault Advocate. We are seeking a dynamic professional, who is energetic, takes initiative, proactively builds and maintains relationships, and demonstrates appropriate decision making skills. The Relief Sexual Assault Advocate Staff provides emotional support, advocacy and crisis intervention to primary and secondary victims of sexual assault and victims of domestic violence at hospitals. This position requires being available to be on call and respond to the hospital between 6pm-6am M-F and all day Saturday and Sunday to serve as back-up call for volunteer advocates. These hours will be shared with other Sexual Assault Advocates.

Associate’s Degree required and one year of related SA/DV experience preferred. Strong listening, verbal and written communication skills are required along with good crisis management and problem solving skills.

Domestic Violence Shelter Advocate

The YWCA Oklahoma City is currently seeking a full time Domestic Violence Shelter Advocates for overnight shifts. We are seeking dynamic professionals who are organized, think independently and critically, use appropriate judgement, and ensure quality work. Strong listening, verbal and written communication and organizational skills are required. The positions are salaried and will require occasional flexibility to meet the needs of our clients and the agency.

A Bachelor’s Degree in a Social Service, Human Relations, or Human Resources field strongly preferred, an Associate’s Degree in Crime Victim Services or other human services also acceptable. Relevant domestic violence advocacy experience preferred, bilingual preferred. Benefits include health insurance, paid vacation and retirement.

Part-Time Domestic Violence Shelter Advocates 

The YWCA Oklahoma City is currently seeking part time Domestic Violence Shelter Advocates for daytime, weekend and evening shifts. We are seeking dynamic professionals who are energetic, creative, take initiative, proactively build relationships and perform as a solid team members. The Domestic Violence Shelter Advocate will assist survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking at the YWCA Emergency Shelter through trauma informed service delivery. This includes answering crisis hotlines and assisting residents and their children with advocacy, safety planning, support, and crisis intervention.

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree in a Social Service field or Associate’s Degree in Crime Victim Services. Relevant experience preferred, bilingual skills preferred. Strong listening, verbal and written communication and organizational skills are required.

Domestic Violence Field Advocate 

The YWCA Oklahoma City is currently seeking a Domestic Violence Field Advocate. We are seeking a dynamic professional who is energetic, creative, takes initiative, proactively builds relationships and performs as a solid team member. The Domestic Violence Field Advocate will provide risk assessment, advocacy, safety planning, support, and crisis intervention for victims of domestic violence at various locations in the community. Other duties may include conducting comprehensive intakes and assessments and facilitating education and support groups.

A Bachelor’s Degree in a Social Service field is strongly preferred, minimally an Associate’s Degree in Crime Victim Services or Social Service field is required. One year full time experience working in the domestic violence field preferred, bilingual skills preferred. Strong listening, verbal and written communication and organizational skills are required. The position will require some evening and occasional weekend work and schedule flexibility to meet the needs of our clients. Additionally, this position may office offsite.

Adult Counselor 

Adult Counselors needed to provide crisis intervention and individual/group counseling for adult victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. Training in domestic violence, sexual assault and trauma is provided.

Minimum Requirements: Master’s Degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work or related field. Current Oklahoma licensure is preferred, i.e. LPC/LMFT/LCSW/LBP. Under LPC supervision will be considered. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Experience and training in trauma counseling would be beneficial. Bilingual ability preferred but not required.
