Violence in the Workplace

Workplace Violence

Domestic violence isn't something that stays home when your employees come to work. It spills over into the workplace bringing stress, injuries, harassment, lost productivity and absenteeism. It's a serious problem that increases incidents of workplace violence that threaten the health and safety of the employee and her co-workers. There is something business leaders can do about this serious problem and the YWCA Oklahoma City can help.

Good Domestic Violence Policies & Procedures will:
  • Build awareness in your company and our community about domestic and sexual violence
  • Create a supportive, safe work environment for victims of violence and their fellow employees
  • Send a clear message that violence won't be tolerated at your company
  • Provide training to staff so they understand the dangers associated with domestic violence
  • Offer assistance to victims through resources and referrals
  • Provide resources for addressing employees who perpetrate violence

YWCA Oklahoma City can help you understand the issue and how it affects your employees so you can:
  • Spot signs of domestic violence in the workplace
  • Understand the potential for danger, sometimes lethal, environment your employees might be facing
  • Train HR professionals and managers about domestic violence
  • Provide resources for creating effective policy and procedures to assist victims and deal with perpetrators
  • Create effective policy and tools for implementation
  • Guide Supervisors on handling employees facing violence
  • Understand the benefits of integrating domestic violence expertise in Employee Assistance Programs (EAP)
