Masking domestic violence only hides the problem and protects the perpetrators. In Oklahoma last year, 88 domestic violence victims were killed during the commission of the crimes against them. When you look at all the homicides committed in our state, more than 45 percent were directly related to domestic violence. This horrifying statistic means more than just a number. It's women, children and men who's lives were cut short by violence committed while they were at home, work or just out trying to make their lives better. We can do better. With your support, YWCA OKC will have the resources to get victims and survivors the help they need to live safe, productive lives.
